The Drag

It has been a constant struggle to remain vigilant. Staying on top of joint, diet, and knuckling issues has become a full time job, but I'm not complaining. This is the least I can do for Lakota, after all she has given me for almost 16 years.
While her hip dysplasia (Orthopedic) is most prevalent, I tend to forget that her paw dragging is not related. With Lakota's case, back paw dragging is nerve related (Neurological). The Vet advised me years ago that Degenerative Myelopathy (DM) was captured on her x-ray and was in it's early stages. For whatever reason, I continue to forget that this is unrelated to the hip dysplasia.
Here are the things that I neglect to do enough for Lakota:
Spinal massages
Laser Therapy (spine)
Drop Foot Brace
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM)

Spinal/Muscle/Hip Acupressure and Massage
Lakota loves, loves, loves these. So much so that I can see how much relief they provide.

Dropped Paw Helper
I find that I have to use this device carefully. Experience with this device has proved helpful, but if not monitored while worn, can result in injury (abrasion, friction burn). Most manufacturers recommend removing every 2-3 hours, allowing the leg(s) to breathe and removing at night to prevent skin irritation and maintain circulation.

I use a "C" hook sewing needle or thick needle to remove hair from Velcro
